Mr. Animesh Prakash is a humanitarian professional with nearly fifteen years of service with communities, Government, NGO and UN. He has experience across the spectrum of disaster management, including Climate Change Adaptation, Disaster Risk Reduction and Humanitarian Response. He is skilled in partnership management, high impact programme delivery, innovation and influencing.  His thematic focus of work includes community resilience and risk reduction, risk informed water governance, WASH and early warning. He has led 11 field missions in complex Humanitarian emergencies including Cyclone, floods at CARE, Oxfam and rescue missions in building collapses at Government of Haryana.

At a senior leadership level, he currently leads the disaster management unit at CARE India.  He has previously held CCA, DRR and Humanitarian positions with UN World Food Programme, Oxfam and UNDP. He is an India Disaster Resilience Leadership (IDRL) fellow with TISS. He is recipient of awards for innovation in early warning and DRR from DCHI & Spindle in Netherlands, UNSG & MIT Climate CoLab and UN-OCHA. He has a professional degree in Disaster Management and Human Rights Law.
