AJSA India Wins Prestigious Mahatma Award-2023 for Outstanding Work in Quality Education, Climate Action, and Sustainable Development

Bhubaneswar, Odisha – AJSA India, a leading organization dedicated to addressing the root causes of extreme poverty through holistic, community-driven approaches to sustainable development, has been honored with the esteemed Mahatma Award. The award recognizes AJSA’s exceptional contributions to Quality Education, Climate Action, and Sustainable Development, reflecting their unwavering commitment to making a positive impact on India’s future.

The Mahatma Award ceremony, held in New Delhi, was attended by prominent dignitaries and influencers, including Mr. Lord Raj Loomba CBE, Member of the House of Lords; Ms. Rajashree Birla, Chairperson of Aditya Birla Centre of Rural Development; and a special address was given by Ms. Tara Gandhi Bhattacharjee, Granddaughter of Mahatma Gandhi. Mr. Manoranjan Behera, Executive Director of AJSA, received the prestigious award on behalf of the organization.

It’s worth mentioning that- AJSA’s efforts extend beyond sustainability, encompassing economic growth, climate resilience, and reducing inequality through innovative science and technology. The organization has been at the forefront of incubating high-impact, low-cost initiatives, advising on policies and strategies, mobilizing multi-stakeholder networks, and raising awareness of the SDGs.

One of AJSA’s proudest achievements is educating over 6500 underprivileged children, exemplifying their commitment to social impact and creating a sustainable future.
